What differentiates Ranciato Public Adjusters Group, LLC, from other public adjusters in Connecticut, Vermont, Florida, and beyond? It’s our process.
Backed by 100+ years of combined experience in the public adjusting business, in addition to some of our members’ backgrounds in construction, our process is one of a kind.
We aren’t afraid to get our hands dirty, digging through fire debris in search of bits and pieces of evidence to support our clients’ personal property claims. And we certainly don’t shy away from meticulous documentation, diagramming, and estimating to ensure we get every last penny for our clients.
In other words, when you want a determined, engaging team in your corner, you want Ranciato Public Adjusters Group, LLC. Keep reading for more details on our step-by-step process.
Evaluation of Your Insurance Policy
When you submit your insurance claim and policy details to us, we’ll do a free review of your materials and explain what types of losses are (and are not) covered under your policy. We’ll then explain your coverages to you in a clear, constructive manner, ensuring you understand what you’re entitled to and what you’re responsible for. Finally, we’ll recommend whether or not you should pursue the claim further.
Reporting Claim
As soon as you hire us, we’ll immediately contact your carrier’s insurance claim office to report the extent of damage from our perspective. This call usually generates a quick response from the carrier, which is exactly what we are hoping for. This way, we can promptly bring in their independent adjuster and preferred vendors while the damage is still in its raw state.
Documenting Damage
Our meticulous documentation process is the cornerstone of our success.
Once the insurance company’s adjuster reaches out to us, we do everything in our power to get them out to your property that same day. This is critical because we want the company’s adjuster to witness the damages at their absolute freshest, before the smoke has fully cleared, or while the water is still dripping from the ceilings. They are obligated to report all of this key, visible evidence to your insurance carrier.
However, sometimes the insurance company’s independent claims adjuster is unable to meet right away. In this case, we do the next best thing: We take photographs, videos, moisture samples, and any other forms of physical evidence for our records.
Whenever possible, we try to beat the insurance company’s preferred mitigation contractors to the scene so we can document the damage in its raw state, before anything has been touched by a contractor. The photographs, videos, and samples that we collect during our initial inspections and meetings are often determining factors in the final settlement agreement.
Preparing Building Estimates
Based on our findings and assessments, we’ll prepare detailed spreadsheets to calculate estimated costs related to your building or affected structure.
Preparing Contents Inventory
In collaboration with you, we will create an inventory of all items and contents that were lost or damaged during the event. We will also calculate their total value.
Preparing Claim Related Documents
The initial agreements reached between your public adjuster and the independent claims adjuster set the tone for the final outcome of your claim.
One of the most important reports the company adjuster is required to prepare is a reserve report. This is basically the field adjuster’s estimate as to how much money the insurance company will need to reserve for your loss. In other words, it’s the adjuster’s ballpark guess as to the value of the claim. This reserve report is used by the insurance carrier and reinsurance companies to set aside (or reserve) the amount necessary to pay for your loss.
As your representative, we make sure the insurance company’s adjuster understands how important the accuracy of this reserve report is, and why they should not underestimate this crucial initial reserve.
Coordinate & Attend Meetings With Insurance Company Adjusters, Contractors, Engineers & Other Vendors
As experienced public insurance adjusters, we know that an insurance company’s preferred vendors and partners may seek to cut corners for the sake of the company’s bottom line. That’s why we will coordinate meetings and be present for all work being done, so we can voice our expert opinion in the best interest of your personal property.
In other words, we will tell the contractors which items we believe should be cleaned, packed out, dry-cleaned, refinished, repaired, or deemed a total loss.
All of our efforts during these initial meetings are also intended to influence the company’s independent adjuster when they report the damages to the company. Again, we want to be certain that their adjuster will not underestimate the extent of damages.
Review & Compare All Estimates
Once the insurance company’s adjuster has prepared their own estimates, we’ll carefully examine them and compare them with ours. We’ll be in direct communication with them to resolve any discrepancies we find. Nothing gets past us.
Submit Property Settlement Documents
With our detailed evidence, reports, and estimates all finalized for your settlement, we’ll submit them to the insurance company.
Negotiate Your Claim to Maximize Recovery
If your insurance company disagrees with our settlement submission and tries to underpay you, we will negotiate with them until we reach a settlement that we deem honest and fair.
We won’t rest until you get the settlement you deserve.
